Our diesel fuel is delivered via local boat and jerry jugs.	The only takeout in the Maldives is freshly caught, traditional-style.

In the pristine village of Uligan, the sugar-sand streets are swept daily, the coral-and-rock walls are scrubbed white, and the children are not just darling but well-dressed, polite and darling.


In the Arabian Sea southeast of Socotra, we had several days of motor-sailing doldrums -- good for a mid-ocean convoy fuel-sharing stop (left) and for amazing color reflections and sunset phosphorescence in the glassy seas. (Photos left and center are by Sea Witch.)
