At left, the historic Dunedin railway station, start of our South Island backpacking trip. On the train to Queenstown, friendly Kiwi engineers Ron and Ken let us ride in the engine cab. (Alan got to blow the horn.)

In March, we were on hand at the America's Cup Village when the Kiwis won the Auld Mug. Shoulder-to-shoulder singing, drinking, and dancing on the wharf lasted well into the wee hours. Kiwis definitely know how to party.

Dinner with Sea Witch and weather guru Bob McDavitt at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron, home to the America's Cup.

We had a great time aboard with Richard & Kim, fellow Dallasites doing a locum tenens down under.
